‘Herdal Mountain Farm, Geiranger, Norway’ – framed original acrylic panoramic landscape painting on canvas board.
I visited Herdalssetra, a Herdal Mountain Farm, in Geiranger, Norway back in August 2019. It was one of the excursions available via coach and it was one of the most delightful places I’ve been to. Whilst there aren’t any goats or horses in this painting, they were roaming around freely and we loved seeing the goats on the roofs of some of the small cabins (hytter).
This acrylic painting beautifully captures the serene charm of Herdal Mountain Farm, nestled high in the lush valleys near Geiranger. The scene showcases a traditional Norwegian summer farm (seter), with a row of rustic wooden cabins painted in earthy reds, whites, and natural timber tones, each topped with turf roofs that blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
Rolling green meadows stretch across the foreground, dotted with stones and crossed by a gentle, winding stream that reflects the soft Nordic light. Full framed size 81 × 51 cm (32 × 20 inch) - a lovely limed wood frame with an angled edge inner wood frame. No glass so the texture of the painting can be seen and it is also safer for posting.
