‘Desdemona’ is the name of a rose created by David Austin whose love of literature and poetry often inspires the naming of his roses. This rose has a delicate, romantic charm and Desdemona was the name of the innocent heroine in William Shakespeare’s play ‘Othello’.
I was commissioned to create 3 rose paintings of David Austin roses. Using acrylic ink & other acrylic paints, I have captured the soft white and pinky-peach petals nestled among rich fluid green and warm gold leaves.
