Hi I’m Sarah!
Although I studied art during my school years, I ended up following a more traditional path, opting for a “safe” career in banking. Fast forward 25 years, and in 2013, my partner Peter, our then five-year-old son Daniel, and I made the move to West Cork, Ireland. With Peter’s parents already living here, we quickly found ourselves at home amidst the welcoming community and breathtaking landscapes.
It didn’t take long before the natural beauty of West Cork began to stir something creative in me again. The rugged coastline, rolling hills, and ever-changing skies reignited my love for painting, and I slowly began to pick up my brushes once more.
As of early 2025, I’ve been able to reduce my work hours, which has given me the time and space to reconnect more deeply with my passion for art. I recently completed a course in acrylic inks—a medium I’m excited to experiment with more in my upcoming pieces. With a bit more freedom and some new skills under my belt, my goal is to produce work more regularly and with greater intention.
Outside of painting, life in West Cork keeps us all happily busy. I enjoy playing badminton, something that’s been a long-standing part of my life, and taking our dogs for long walks. Peter is in his element working on re-wilding parts of our land and establishing a small woodland. Daniel loves horse riding at the local stables where he also undertakes regular volunteer work.
Our two deerhounds, Tessa and Ramsay are constant sources of joy—bounding through the forest trails with endless energy and character. We also care for six rescued rabbits and six guinea pigs, who enjoy a spacious indoor-outdoor setup and live a truly pampered life here in the countryside.
Every day brings its own rhythm and inspiration—and I’m excited for what this new chapter will bring, both on the canvas and beyond.
